ABOUT US

We are a majority Indigenous owned production company crafting social justice, environmental, community and Indigenous stories.

Founded in 2023 by Ngarigo, Yuin, and Worimi filmmaker Daniel King and Ben Pederick, both seasoned practitioners in factual content creation, First Person Films aims to create digital media content that provokes change in both its audience and the individuals involved in stories related to environmental, social, and Indigenous issues.

With an innate understanding of storytelling, we have worked across Australia in various settings, from cities to rural and remote communities, as well as internationally, navigating the intricacies of storytelling in diverse environments.

First Person Films produces a range of high quality factual content for socially conscious audiences or those seeking to understand and empathise with characters striving for personal or community change. We work with organisations to create digital media that archives, educates, and promotes Indigenous content.

OUR APPROACH

First Person Films aims to promote diversity and inclusivity within the Australian film and television industry and to create high-quality, authentic content.

Community Engagement

We engage with community members respectfully and collaboratively throughout the production process enabling us to access diverse perspectives, stories, and talents.

Impactful content

We blend traditional storytelling techniques with modern treatments and creative styles to offer fresh and dynamic ways to tell captivating stories across various platforms and formats.

Socially responsible

We have a genuine desire to contribute to our communities by providing a platform for marginalised voices and authentically amplifying storytelling by Indigenous people. We hope to partner with you to contribute to the legacy of indigenous storytelling and cultural heritage preservation through impactful video productions.
